To the Window To the Wall

I'm not sure when we got lazy about our window coverings and just felt contempt with factory panels but there are so many ways to dress your windows. Like almost a million ideas.  If you are pressed for time and your budget is tight, even ordering custom panels will look much better than basic panels.  Even buying extra long panels so they puddle on the ground is worth the extra dollars to have a unique look. Boring basic rod panels in 5,
4,
3,
2,
1.

With going custom without breaking the bank, here are some topper options that will add some drama and personality to simple panels.  We've got goblet pleats, 3 finger pinch pleated pleats, pencil pleats, and tailored grommet pleats.  There are a lot more topper options, but as you can see, with extra attention to details, your windows can look like you've actually "dressed" them.

Details, Details, DETAILS

Now, To the Wall

Whenever I talk about wallpaper, I don't know what the word on the street has been about wallpaper but why is everyone so anti-wallpaper? Have you seen what wallpaper looks like now? It's like artwork (and sometimes, with the right coin, it can be hand-painted art on silk wallpaper)! Talk about instant Bang! I won't talk too much more. Just look at all the different ways to use paper in your home. You can do a whole room, floor to ceiling, with it or just half the wall. And if you're the conservative type, just cover one wall (usually the accent wall in the room) or the back of a bookcase or built-in for that instant flare.

I CAN NOT get enough of this all over look! #ICAN'T

Who wouldn't want to spend the whole weekend doing laundry with in a room like this?

Set the stage for childhood imagination to run wild and free with a fun print.

Sweet child of mine! How gorgeous and sophisticated is this nursery?
Note: Please wallpaper responsibly

Design on ANY Budget

Here is a great example of how to transform any room using a variety of resources and cleaning up something old to update your space.

If it's possible, it's always nice to clear out the room you are updating so you have a clean slate to work with and make painting a lot easier.  Stand in your room and just visualize what you want it to look like.  That final look in your head will not happen over night.  A great room takes time and some rearrangement over and over to get it just right.  Be patient and it will come together.

Take your favorite item and display it.  You'll end up using and enjoying it more when can see it every daty.

For this small apartment, it just made sense to have a day bed that function as additional seating during the day.

Throw a dinner party and show off your "new and improved" space.

Surround yourself with beautiful and inspiring things.

Set the mood with scented candles and flowers.

Simply accessorized.

Who says a bookshelf is just for books? Display what you love and show your personality.

And after you've found a new use and a home for all your old and new treasures, please, please, please don't forget to...

         ENJOY YOUR SPACE!
